Youth League Institutes TD Limit On 11-Year-Old

Usually we would celebrate great young athletes and their potential. But in Arkansas, one youth football league is instituting a dramatic rule to hold back its brightest star, all in an attempt to level the playing field for other competitors. 11-year-old Demias Jimerson has become so dominant at running back that the Wilson Intermediate Football League has reinstated a rule called the “Madre Hill rule.” The rule, named after former University of Arkansas star and Oakland Raider Madre Hill, bars him from scoring a touchdown if he has already scored three times and his team has the lead of 14 or more points.

Chaos at Candlestick: The Raiders vs 49ers Brawl

The San Francisco 49ers said Monday that they want to put the teams annual preseason matchup against the Oakland Raiders on hold. This coming out after an exhibition game at Candlestick Park in which two fans were shot, one was beaten unconscious, 12 were arrested and dozens ejected. One of the shooting victims was wearing a T-shirt imprinted with a derogatory phrase about the 49ers, according to police. The violence occurred during and after the 49ers’ 17-3 victory Saturday night in their home stadium. Videos taken by fans and posted online shows fights and aggressive behavior in the stands during the game. In the two parking lot shootings, a 24-year-old man was shot multiple times in the stomach and managed to drive himself to a stadium security office for help. He is hospitalized and in critical condition. In another attack, a man in his 20s was shot numerous times but sustained lesser injuries, according to police. About an hour before the shootings, a 26-year-old man was assaulted and beaten  unconscious in a bathroom. He was hospitalized in serious condition, police said. The police currently have no suspects in custody and although the shootings were being investigated as separate incidents, they could possibly be related. The Raiders and 49ers began a long-running series in 1967. They played an exhibition game each year through 1993. The series resumed in 1999 and has taken place every year since except 2000. It’s a matchup that has been heated amongst fans and considering the teams close proximity to each other has bragging rights on the line. 49ers CEO Jed York said he will recommend to the NFL that the annual preseason battle between the 49ers and Raiders be put off next year. This could be the death of a long rivalry due to the immaturity of the fans.

Randy Moss Retires

Today NFL superstar Randy Moss retired after 13 years of playing professional football. He was nick named the freak due to some of the plays he would make on the field. He played for the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots & Tennessee Titans. He will definetly be in the Hall Of Fame with his production on the field. He is 2nd All Time in Touchdowns for a wide receiver only behind Jerry Rice. Randy had a great career the only thing missing is a Super Bowl ring but I wish him the best & thank him for the memories.
